A pioneering audio company needed to transform their brand narrative from a direct-to-consumer speaker and live performance platform to a creator of bespoke sound installations. The challenge was creating a strategy that would honor their experimental roots while positioning their evolution toward sculptural, sustainable sound art.
Originally known for democratizing live music experiences through affordable speaker systems and curated performances, Oda was ready to embrace a bold new direction. Their innovative paper-based technology and commitment to natural sound demanded a fresh narrative that would resonate with luxury clients while maintaining their artistic integrity.We developed a strategy that repositioned Oda as creators of "portals to sound"—sculptural installations that bridge nature, music, and architectural space.
Through strategic workshops, we helped articulate Oda's evolved mission: creating omnidirectional sound fields that feel as natural as opening a window. We centered their story around three key pillars: innovative material use (paper and fabric), environmental responsibility (Fair Trade Sound from Costa Rica's Macaw Sanctuary), and artistic vision (influenced by Miró, Calder, and Ellsworth Kelly).
The final direction elevates their technical achievements in sustainable acoustics while emphasizing their unique position at the intersection of sound art and environmental stewardship.
The digital experience pairs a refined version of their type system with editorial animation that tells the story of Oda's unique approach to sound. Custom motion design diagrams how their speakers create omnidirectional sound fields while visualizing the intimate connection between listener and environment—showing how their installations create a direct portal to the Macaw Sanctuary's living ecosystem. These animated elements serve both as technical explanation and emotional storytelling, helping visitors understand the special relationship that forms between listener and place.
The new brand strategy and website have successfully repositioned Oda in the luxury sound installation space while maintaining their commitment to experimental sound and sustainability. Their refined digital presence has attracted high-end clients seeking bespoke audio experiences that align with both environmental and aesthetic values.
